Our Fertility Clinic serves IVF patients mainly from Florida and the Southeastern United States. We enjoy a very good reputation that brings us patients from all over the world. It is very common to treat patients from Canada, Europe, South America and the Caribbean. Recently we have been honored with visitors from as far away as Russia and China. They have discovered that Fertility Services can be excellent, high tech, and provided in a caring and very personal setting.
We’re A Very Special Practice
Fertility Center and Applied Genetics of Florida and the offices of Julio E. Pabon, M.D., P.A., provide the most advanced treatments for patients with reproductive problems. Our clinic is special because we strive to provide personal attention and exceptional customer service while matching or exceeding the success and technology of most clinics in the world. Unlike most IVF and Reproductive Endocrinology clinics, personal attention by the physician is the rule and not the exception. Dr. Pabon is a nationally recognized physician in his specialty. He has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” by U.S. News and World Report and by the Castle Connolly agency. These awards are given to the best of the best as determined by the votes of other physicians.
Infertility consultation and treatment can be very stressful. We strive to eliminate as much of the stress as possible by keeping our patients well informed during each step of the process and making sure all questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and compassionate fashion. During business hours, our phones are answered by a person and not a recording. Dr. Pabon and our team has been recognized by receiving awards such as the “Compassionate Doctor” award as well as a the “Patients’ Choice” awards. In addition, we have been recognized by the American Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology as an outstanding practice by achieving success rates above the national average while having low high order pregnancy rates.
Dr. Pabon’s good reputation has grown since he began private practice in 1995. As a result, we treat patients from all of Florida, the eastern United States, Canada, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Many patients come because Florida is a second home, or a frequent vacation destination, or because they seek special services such as egg donation, surrogacy, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, sex selection (family balancing) or even surgical treatment for infertility such as microsurgical tubal reversals.
Our two offices are strategically located near Highway 75 in Sarasota and Bonita Springs, Florida. Their location is convenient for patients in Florida’s West Coast with access from Tampa international airport (TPA), Sarasota/Bradenton airport (SRQ), and the Ft. Myers/Naples international airport (RSW). Patients that are far away can have a consultation over the phone or on Skype. The main office in Sarasota has an in office IVF and Andrology laboratory. The Bonita Springs office has an Andrology laboratory and is currently a satellite office for consultation and monitoring of IVF and surgical patients. Patients need to be aware that the Bonita Springs office functions as a satellite office for consultation, testing, and monitoring of our fertility patients. All major procedures are done in Sarasota.

Our clinic continues to report to the Centers for Disease Control through Westat, Inc.. Dr. Pabon has declined membership in S.A.R.T. because over the course of almost ten years, the society did not enhance or properly represent the practice of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. S.A.R.T. increased the costs by charging membership fees and per treated patient fees without providing tangible benefits. Patients must realize that S.A.R.T. is not an honor society. It is a society that Fertility practices may choose to join for a fee.
Dr. Pabon’s practice continues to thrive with oversight from the Florida Board of Medicine, the Florida Board of Medicine Office Surgery Division, the Federal Drug Administration (F.D.A.), the Agency for Healthcare Administration Laboratories Unit, the Centers for Disease Control (C.D.C.), the American Association of Bioanalysts (A.A.B.), and the Sarasota and Lee Counties Health Departments.

Diagnostic lab. procedures comply with the World Health Organization guidelines as well a the American Association of Bioanalysts’ guidelines for quality control.
Our Embryology Team
An embryologist is a biologist with extensive laboratory experience in mammalian reproduction. Our embryologists all have at least 10-15 years of experience in the field as senior embryologists. They are all proficient in all aspects of in-vitro fertilization, andrology, cryobiology, and micromanipulations such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection, assisted hatching, and embryo biopsies. Part of what makes Fertility Center and Applied Genetics of Florida special is that you can be confident that your lab procedures are being carried out by senior embryologists and not trainees or junior embryologists.
We’re Proud of Our Successful IVF Program
Since our beginning in July 1998, more than 50% of our patients have achieved a pregnancy. Individual chance of success depends on the age of the female partner and the specific diagnosis. Recently, we have implemented ultramodern stimulation protocols and treatment procedures such as FSH with mini hCG combination protocols, custom dose antagonist protocols with agonist (lupron) “triggers,” all freeze or all cryo treatments, laser assisted trophectoderm blastocyst biopsies, complete genomic hybridization, low oxygen incubators, oocyte vitrification, embryo vitrification, and ultrasound guided embryo transfers.
Both our IVF patients and our outpatient tubal reversal patients receive treatment with the assistance of Board Certified Medical Doctor Anesthesiologists. The anesthesiologists that attend the Sarasota office rotate from the Doctors Hospital of Sarasota. They are attending physicians on their own supervising many complicated surgeries in all specialties of medicine such as orthopaedics, thoracic, heart, vascular, gynecology, and neurosurgery to name a few. The intravenous sedation they provide for our office patients is fully monitored and expertly managed. Unlike many IVF clinics, we choose to provide our patients with an anesthesiologist so they can have the highest safety and comfort.
Microsurgery for outpatient tubal ligation reversals
Dr. Pabon’s training in reproductive surgery included extensive microsurgical training both during his residency training and fellowship. He performed his first microsurgical tubal ligation reversal in 1990. That initial surgery was a success. Dr. Pabon received a gift of a fancy business card holder from this first brave patient as a thank you gesture for a successful surgery and pregnancy. That was 23 years ago! Since then, Dr Pabon has perfected the techniques for this meticulous surgery with a successful pregnancy in more than 80% of patients. Dr. Pabon is one of the pioneers in the outpatient minilaparotomy technique.
