It is sad that cyber bullies threaten businesses with bad reviews if they do not do what they demand. An example is a couple that was seen last May. At the initial consult routine prenatal labs were ordered. A Counsyl recessive disease screen was ordered as well as ovarian reserve tests and other prenatal labs through Quest Diagnostics. Counsyl Genetics had been running a promotion about not balance billing patients if their insurance company declined coverage. This promotion had expired at the time of their consult and I was not aware of this. They were balanced billed and he called our office to complain. My staff called Counsyl and had the charges waived. Another company balanced billed them and he claimed that we had informed him that none of the reference labs would balance bill. This is false as the promotion was from Counsyl only. Now he has treatened a “bad review” if we don’t pay his bill to Reprosource. We won’t pay and won’t be bullied.
Reviews should be constructive for the benefit of the business and the future patients and not be used as “weapons.”
