IVF in Florida for Canadian patients is common due to the nationalized health services in Canada. Canadian IVF patients like the quick access to care and the availability of the highest technology.
Canadian IVF patients frequently choose to come Florida for their IVF treatments. Canadian patients seek our assistance for several reasons. Many Canadian IVF patients enjoy coming to the West Coast of Florida. Florida laws are permissive when considering egg donation, gestational surrogacy, and family balancing (sex selection). Dr. Pabon has enjoyed an excellent reputation with Canadian patients due to the excellent customer service and the many successes over the years. Our clinic has helped patients from Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal.
Our clinic has an in-clinic secure egg donor data base. Patients may view the donors and their profies from their home in Canada. When a donor is chosen, patients contact the staff in either Sarasota or Bonita Springs so they can confirm the donor’s availability and fees. We allow our donors to set their fees individually. Most egg donors charge between $4,000 to $5,000 for their efforts. Our program is anonymous despite revealing photographs of the donors. Please respect the donor’s desire to remain anonymous. Our donors sign documents waiving all parental rights.
In the state of Florida gametes are considered property. To our knowledge the waiver of parental rights has never been challenged in court. The process usually begins with a phone or Skype consultation with Dr. Pabon. Patients may choose to also seek counsel from a reproductive law attorney that works with our clinics.
All donors are interviewed by Dr. Pabon. They are screened according to F.D.A. guidelines for donor acceptability and infectious disease tests. Donors are also screened for Cystic fibrosis, Spinal muscular atrophy, as well as Fragile X. Many donors have provided grades from school. The donors are young ladies in their twenties. Most of them are students or mothers themselves. They enjoy helping others as well as being compensated for their efforts.
Canadian patients that need a gestational carrier can be matched through our office or through the Reproductive Law attorneys that we work with. Matching through our office is more economical than through the attorneys or various agencies. We actively recruit gestational carriers at all times so that we may be able to provide one or two for your consideration soon after consultation. We can provide you with a list of reproductive law attorneys.
Gestational carrier arrangements are common in Florida. Florida laws are permissive. If the parents are married, their names appear on the American birth certificate immediately upon the birth of the child. All international patients are required to seek counsel with an immigration attorney in their own country to make sure that there will not be any problems bringing the baby/babies home. In the past 17 years, none of our Canadian patients have had difficulties in this regard.
Canadian patients frequently seek IVF treatment in the United States and Florida. We are happy to arrange a phone or Skype consultation during which Dr. Pabon will review the details. Most frequently, Canadian patients are able to have all their preparation and even most of the ovarian stimulation while still in Canada and travel to Sarasota 2-4 days before the egg harvest.
Many of our Canadian patients choose to test their embryos from chromosomal problems through pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and are able to know that the embryo chosen for transfer has a normal number of chromosomes and will also be informed of the gender of the embryo before the transfer. In Florida it is fine to choose the gender of the embryo for transfer. Please review the PGD/PGS and Family Balancing documents in this web site.
